In fact, I have been sick this past week. J’ai attrapé froid (I caught a cold), or if I had to use a slang, I would say: j’ai attrapé le crève!

I have been coughing (to cough = tousser) ; I have a cough (avoir de la toux) ; ce qui a retardé les enregistrements.

Just a quick word to let you know that I am working on my emails and podcast(s).

I *use to have* issues lately with my laptop and its fan  .... and now the storm (l'orage) that we are having in California (il y a des coupures d'electricite depuis un petit moment maintenant! *no electricity for more than a week*).

Pourquoi me direz-vous ? Well, it's because I am waiting for a picture for a new section that will come in the podcast (on each odd numbered podcast). I hope (j'espere) that you will like it.

It will be a new way for you to learn French and discover a bit of the French culture (et oui, les deux a la fois!). Mais je garde la surprise, jusqu'au podcast. Once out, check out the transcript (pdf).

I received some emails asking me where I am (and that some are eagerly waiting for the podcast!).

Well, I am in school, and was a bit swamp by the start of the semester (I have a lot of reading and demanding professors :)
As you know it is always a bit "crazy" (un peu fou, un peu dingue) au debut du semetstre.

I will post the podcast on Sunday morning-CA time (the 16th, for the #89) and soon after that, the following week (la semaine qui suit), the podcast 90 and 91 will be there. I also have some updates for the member section (je suis en retard car je viens juste d'aider un ami a demenager ce week end - to move ...).

UPDATE (07/22/07): I have a slow start, I have to admit.I took more or less 2 days off :) Now I am back, and updates will be coming up!

It has been two years since the first episode aired, and a lot has changed since then (et pour le mieux).

Moi, en retard, jamais!

Well, not true. I am always late, and am known for that with all my friends (their trick me now by giving me, every now and then, an earlier schedule from the normal one, so I am still late, but I will be in advance!).

Peu importe, all of that to say, that the podcast 66 and 67 will be out soon (they are ready to record).

Podcast 68 and 69 will follow very quickly. No podcast for the following 2 weeks, as it is Christmas and New year's week end (but a tiny surprise will be published during the holidays).

I am just in the "Christmas Shopping Process", and more importantly, preparing and grabbing all of my documents for a visa.
Just like with the podcast, I like to take my time to be sure I have everything in order.
I am also giving a hand to my brother at his job ..... L'esprit de Noel comme ils disent (Christmas spririt as they said!).

The new FLC will be "officially" open in January. We are still testing and posting few things for now, so it can be as smooth and easy as possible.

Voila, voila. Tout ca pour dire, que vous aurez pas mal de podcast pour les vacances. Et qu'ils seront disponible tres bientot.

Podcast 64 and 65 are ready but I am waiting to realease them as the quality is not my standard due to a hectic schedule of traveling.
By Tuesday morning (CA time), 64 will be out and 65 will follow immediatly after.

Bon ... That is no news, but I will post this week end the podcast 64, 65 and hopefully 66 ! 3 en 1.

The 64 is dated on Nov. 4^th, 65 on Nov. 11^th and 66 on Nov. 18^th. I will not do a podcast for the Thanksgiving week end (in fact, it will not be dated on Nov. 25. Intead the 67 will be dated on Dec. 2d).

Last year, while thanksgiviing (!), I rushed myself and did not enjoy "ma dinde".

Podcast #62 was going to be online the previous week end.

But, after the recording, Michelle, who was doing the conversation with me, told me it was not good.

Donc, listening to one of the main podcast characters, I decided to re-do (refaire) again, part of the podcast.

It is almost ready, and this week you will see the podcast 62, 63 and 64 (and 65 within Sunday)! That will be a lot, but we will be back on schedule.

I lately have a really hard time to keep up. There is still some talks and discussions that are going on,and still some few things to change.

That is why I prefer, for now, and until the end of the month of October, to do the podcast on a bi-weekly basis.

62 and 63 will be "specials":
The #62 will be out soon, and dated on October 7th.
The #63, out soon also, will be dated on October 21rd.

After that, the schedule will be back on a weekly basis (with "normal podcast"), so, the 64 will be available for November 4th, 65 on November 11th ......

I know that some of you download the podcast and listen to it as soon as it came out.
I am really sorry. Please understand that I am still "alone" to prepare and record those (well, plenty of you actually helspme al lot so thank you).

As soon as the websites are done, talks are ended and some test finished, and if everything is going fine, I am sure you will like it.

Well, as you may have see or guess, am still a little late!

After a short break, I am still remodeling some few things, and preparing a new transcript – et oui! Le nouveau pdf serat different. Not much, but will get more infos and features.

I am struggling a bit with acrobat and word, so if anyone is pretty good with the TOC, let me know!

I am also preparing some “interactive? features (dictation, flash cards, …).

Je vous promets, ca vaut le coup d’attendre et d’avoir ete patient! Next podcast will be here very soon, almost immediatly followed by the 62.

There will be a slight delay in the next podcast (61). I will try my best to make it available on Tuesday or Wednesday (the 26^th or 27^th).

I will also skip the podcast 62, scheduled on September 23^rd, and will broadcast it on either Saturday the 30^th or Saturday, Ocotber 7^th. It will be either a week or 2 off.

The reason for this is quit simple: I am very late (about a week delay as of today),and just got some minor problems, that led me to a position were it is impossible for me to keep up  for the next few days (minor issue that bring me to the doctor in the USA!).

Podcast 62 and 63 will be specials – After some request, I will do those 2 special ones about more expressions used every day (news, day to day talks), followed directly by conversations, to place those in practice!

So here it is, after a bit: the new layout.

So what to do now - start talking about the glitch or to thank people ?

Mais bien sur, qu'il faut d'abord remercier, each person that have helped getting that look: Eric & Patricia (for their enormous patience with me!), Kim, Ian, and Ben.
I am sure I forgot some, but Thanks Big Time.

It is not yet done - the Blog and the FrenchLearningCenter will get the same "look and feel", wit some nice banner on top.

The new forum is up, and I welcome you to use it and start filling it up.

I am aware of some issue with this new template - those just concern people with Internet Explorer: it seems that the menu on the right side "disapear", when you click to check a comment.
No biggies ..... that will be done in time.
While waiting for some fixes, I will place the answers for the game under the post itself, everytime a game ends up.

So checkout the new menu on top, feel free to navigate ... and soon will be the merchandise coming!

Chers Auditeurs (or Dear Listeners),

 

I am coming back to a normal schedule. After some computer crash, I had to prepare a trip back to France, clean out some papers with a bunch of governmental office and most importantly, decided to "clean" all the websites.

 

If you hold on tight, a new look will be here soon. But migrating is long and I want it to be as easy as possible. Some listeners are helping in that process, and I wanted to say how grateful I was! I could never done it by myself.

 

This podcast is yours, and I am happy that everyone can contribute to it. I will also pretty soon make a specific announcement, but I will keep that as a surprise :) Et comme on dit, un peu de mystere ne fait de mal a personne!

I am flying back to France on Monday (May 22d), and am still preparing/packing (je fais mes sacs, prepare mon retour) and saying goodbye (for now) until I am back around December.

Et oui, et oui ! The podcast of this week is a little bit delayed.

That was a rough week. My laptop (main computer) had a LCD issue and had to be sent back.
Well, that happens, so I back everything up, and was going to use an old one instead. We never know what could happen.

Et bien, comme un malheur n'arrive jamais seul (as a bad news never came alone), the "in case of" computer had a "hard drive" (disque dur) burnt down.

So, 3 days after, backing up, replacing and putting everything back again together to avoid any data loss, here we are. Small delay in the emails replies, but every thing should be normal by Monday.

I will put online the podcast 44 on Monday evenning (PST).

Thanks for being patient. I know that will be worth the wait, as you will "love" the topic of this week!

Ok  - Quelques petits problemes hier et ce matin:

Hier : major power failure - so I wait until this morning to do everything .........

As of now, until I see that with the host, I decided to put them on a side. Please, wait a bit, an update the podcast from iTunes (right click on it and choose update). It will clean up and show the last one (33 normally) - untill the new one came back.

Hope the Podcast will get back to you as soon as possible!

 

Update: everything seems to work fine and you can grab the lessons 34 - and the rest of the files too - on croise les doigts et on verra.

A new Book Reading and Comprehension (BRC07) have just been added - 3 little stories, in French, with a lot of questions and mix and match to better understand the texts.

A full grammar point, with a lot of exercises, on pronouns, has been added too (GEX02).

Also, remember to participate in the forums if you have any questions - and make some requests for the Podcast!

Here it goes - I know that the videos can not be played in the ipod video - That issue will be resolved from now on, and for the next videos (next podcast).

I just got a new program that works on my pc, o make some bright new and shiny mp4 format! You will still be able to play them on itunes or with quicktime directly on the computer.

The lyrics appear for sure on the 5th generation of the ipod (video one). The user guide said that it can do the same with the photo one, but it seems to do not work. Deux nouvelles:

 

1- As I told you, I was interviewed by the magazine Business week. The article was out for the week of November 28. It is not free from their website, but here is the address : Business week (the article name is "So you want to be an Internet star ?") - There is a nice picture of me (in the magazine).

I scanned it, so if you want I can put an extract of it in the transcript next time (as the article is not free on the Internet, I do not want to put the entire one).

 

2 - Also, I made for fun, some stickers, just like this one - with some different line (like " A certain ... je ne sais quoi") - If you have some ideas, please let me know, I will be glad to stick something else on my old laptop, and answers people questions where ever I bring it! (That actually happens a lot at the airport).
